Given its centrality to learning, the library/media center has a new, high-ceiling and day-lit space, with adjacent small study rooms for group work and collaborative projects. The building's overhanging roofs provide ample outdoor space as well, and these and the overall simplicity of the structure echo the site's agricultural past.
Suisun Valley Library
Project Insight: Fairfield, California
Suisun Valley K-8 School is a remote rural campus, which has had additional buildings and programs added in a piecemeal fashion over the years. This project gives the library/media services and administration offices a new, centralized location at the redesigned campus entrance.
The project provides the campus with an identifiable landmark at its main entrance, and a unifying identity for the school as a whole.
