Mariana Alvarez-Parga is a Principal and Partner at MADI Group Inc. She brings over nineteen years of architectural experience and has lead major K-12 projects from design to occupancy. Based in San Jose, Mariana oversees the firm’s architecture department.
Mariana’s experience in educational, commercial buildings, mixed-use, performing halls, sports and recreational facilities has contributed to MADI’s rapid growth and expanded portfolio. She has facilitated presentations and design charrettes for community-oriented projects in both the private and public sectors. With her leadership and collaborative skills, Mariana brings practical, user-focused solutions to all projects as well as being a key part of the welcoming work environment. Her educational projects include modernization and addition to existing structures as well as new construction and full school replacements.
Mariana is currently the Prinicpal-In-Charge of large projects at Fairfield-Suisun USD and Santa Cruz City Schools. She is also currently working on commercial projects including interior upgrades at San Jose McEnery Convention Center. Her commitment to basis of design allows for design consistency from conceptual phase, through coordination with multi-disciplinary teams to the successful completion of projects.
Mariana recently completed a program at Stanford School of Business in collaboration with LBAN on Scaling Ventures that reinforced her skills on building healthy firm culture.
She is an active member at AIA Silicon Valley Chapter where she was a founding co-chair of the Architectural Intelligence Conference hosted by the Chapter on March 2018 and has organized many chapter events.
She was also part of the team selected for DSA 7x7x7 Water, Energy, Design effort.
Mariana is a Licensed Architect and is fluent in English and Spanish. Her other passions include art, swimming, gathering with friends and doing crafts with her two daughters.
